What is AI data leakage?
It is when someone pastes or uploads a readable document, table or piece of source code into an AI tool. It can be an employee, a developer or an outside vendor. Once it is in, you lose control of where it goes.
How do I stop employees pasting confidential files into ChatGPT?
Protect the file before it is shared. A locked file is encrypted, so a copy that is pasted or uploaded gives the AI tool nothing to read.
Can I let AI read part of a file?
Yes. Use redaction or selective share to remove the sensitive parts, then share what is left. Removed parts are not in the file the AI tool receives. Redaction works on PDF, PNG, JPEG and WebP files. Selective share works on slides, sections, sheets, columns and regions.
Can an AI model open a NakodaX container?
No. Without the key, an AI model sees only encrypted data. Guessing an AES-256 key is not feasible with today's technology.
What encryption does NakodaX use?
AES-256. Documents are encrypted in your browser before upload.
How do I stop customer data going into AI tools?
Data Protection gives each recipient a view with only the rows and columns they need. Sensitive columns are hidden, masked or encrypted, so there is no complete table to upload.
Can AI rebuild my source code from what a vendor receives?
Selected files stay out of the readable release. Developers and vendors get encrypted mock stand ins with the same interface and placeholder bodies, and a developer licence opens only the mock. The real code and the mock are both protected.
What about screenshots?
A screenshot can still go into an AI tool. NakodaX removes the easy path of copying a file, exporting a table or pasting a function. It cannot stop someone who recreates the work by hand.
Do I need to ban AI tools?
No. NakodaX does not block AI tools. It controls what your people hold, so they can keep using AI.
How is this different from blocking AI tools or DLP?
Blocking tools and DLP watch where content is sent. NakodaX works earlier, on what people hold: a locked file or limited view is not readable text, whatever tool it ends up in. It does not replace them, and it does not block AI.
Does NakodaX use AI on my files?
No. NakodaX does not use AI on your documents, data or source code, and never trains models on your content. The details are on the security page.
