How do you share only some slides of a deck?

Send a 20 slide deck to a wider audience with only the ten slides meant for them.

At a boardroom table, a CEO fans a stack of slides. Ten go into a locked folder for the board, and the rest travel along green dashed arrows to an employee, a partner and a group, marked 4, 3 and 3.

In short

A deck shared whole gives every reader every slide. With Selective Share you pick the slides to send. The recipient gets a real deck with only those, verified before it goes out, and the rest are not in the file. Access is limited to named people.

What happens today

A CEO builds one deck for two audiences. The first ten slides cover the strategy and the results, and can go to employees, partners or the public. The last ten hold the plan for the board: hiring, budget, risks and decisions that are not made yet.

Keeping two decks in step takes time, so the CEO sends the one deck and asks readers in the email to ignore the second half.

How the leak happens

The recipient has all 20 slides. The email note is a request, and nothing in the file marks the board slides as off limits. A slide hidden in PowerPoint is still in the file, and anyone who opens it can show it again.

The deck is then forwarded to a colleague, a supplier or a partner, and from there to others.

What it costs you

A budget, a hiring plan or an open risk reaches staff, a supplier or a competitor before the board has met. You cannot tell who has the deck. Even when nothing leaks, you now keep two versions in step every quarter.

What most organisations do today, and where it falls short

A second deck made by deleting slides works until someone changes the first deck and forgets the second. A PDF of the shared slides still goes out as a file anyone can forward. A password covers who can open the file, not what a reader can do with it once it is open.

How NakodaX changes this

You choose the ten slides and send them. The recipient gets a real presentation with only those ten slides, and the other ten are not in the file. NakodaX checks the result before it goes out and refuses the share if the check fails.

You choose who can open it and until when. A download is still a protected copy that opens only for the people you named. The board gets the full deck from the same original, and you can save the selection and reuse it when the deck changes. One send can reach up to 10 people.

You see who opened the deck and when. If you end access, every protected copy stops opening, including copies that were downloaded or forwarded.

What NakodaX does not do

It cannot stop someone photographing a slide on their screen. A watermark with the reader’s name and the time shows whose copy it was. It does not decide which slides are sensitive: you choose them.

What changes

You choose the ten slides to share and send a real deck with only those. The other ten are not in the file. The board gets the full deck from the same original.

How can you share only part of a PowerPoint deck?
Choose the slides to share and send them. The recipient gets a real deck with only those slides, and the slides you left out are not in the file.
Are the other slides hidden or removed?
Removed. They are not in the file the recipient gets, and the result is checked before it is sent.
Can I send the full deck to the board and a shorter one to everyone else?
Yes. Make two selections from the same deck. A saved selection can be reused when the deck changes.
